Post 9 - Final Reflection

In the beginning of my internship my goal was to teach the students how to draw. I worked with the students over and over again to help them draw and after ten weeks, they had learned. If we want to achieve our goals we have to try again and again to achieve them and that will help us in our future.
During the ten weeks interning, the most important ideas and skills that I learned in my internship were how to make a word wall and how to teach young people to draw. I also learned a lot of things that I didn’t expect to learn. For example, I learned that relationships with professional employees such as my supervisor made me more confident. Being around adults helped me see how adults behave with students very nicely and I learned something from them. It developed me better and now I’m better equipped to be around professionals.
I saw many changes in myself because in a new country I learned a lot of things that make me grow as a student.  I saw many people who are from different countries both at IHSL and at my internship school. My most memorable moments from interning at The Brooklyn School of Inquiry were when students called me miss Rikza and they always made different things on paper and gave them to me.  They wrote nice things about me and that made me happy.  I will never forget those moments. They loved me a lot. When they had problems that made them sad, they used to come to me.
It’s really good to get experience from our internship because it will help you to learn more about jobs and it will also help you in your career.  It might be easier for me because I already have learned something from my internship. After high school I will go to college because after graduating I have to do something for my career. When I will graduate from high school I will go to college to finish my studies that will help me to pursue for my career. My biggest challenge was to handle the children which was often really hard because some of the kids didn’t listen to teacher and I had to help the teacher to hold the students when we were taking them from cafeteria to classroom. That was the biggest challenge for me.
If I got the chance to start a new internship next week, I would choose a different place to work because I want to improve my experience for different jobs because I will learn more about careers. I will advise new interns not to be nervous for the interview and dress professionally and behave like an adult. When you get an internship, you should try to work hard and learn something from it.
I will miss the students and teachers whom I was working with and The Brooklyn School of Inquiry where I went for my internship because I really enjoyed it so much  and they love’s me a lot.
